A student doctored images of two former schoolfriends before uploading them to an X-rated website, a court has heard.
James Devenport, 25, had been friends with his victims, but had not kept in touch in over 10 years.
But the women were left horrified when they received edited photos of themselves from an anonymous social media profile and also found the images on adult websites.
The victims, who cannot be named for legal reasons, made repeated requests to have the photographs removed, but they were uploaded again.
They were also subjected to a string of vile sexual remarks and comments by the unknown user via Instagram and Facebook.
A Twitter account was also created showing an image of the second victim along with links to other social media profiles she had.
A police probe led to Devenport being identified through his IP address after the porn website handed over his details.
When officers arrived at his home in Carmunnock, Glasgow, he said: ‘I might as well tell you because you’ll find out anyways. It was me. I’m so sorry, I need help.’

A search of his home also revealed he had nine images showing child sex abuse on a hard-drive.
Devenport, now of Belfast, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted posting indecent sexual images of the women online and communicating indecently with them between January and December last year.
He also admitted possessing indecent images of children in November 2020.
Depute fiscal Abby Seal said: ‘The first witness received a message on Instagram from someone named “Petefakeman” and the image contained an unedited picture of her when she was 14-years-old which was not available on any active social media account.
‘The witness told her partner who advised her to do a “reverse” Google search to trace where the image originated.
‘She recovered the image on the pornography site which had been uploaded numerous times and the image had been edited in an indecent manner.
‘She contacted the website administration requesting that the images should be removed as soon as possible in January.
‘In February the witness was informed by her partner that the same indecent edited image had again been uploaded numerous times on the pornographic website.’
‘In February 2020 an account was created on a pornographic website with the profile picture of the second witness when she was aged 18 which had been edited in an indecent manner.
‘She made no reply to any messages and blocked the user known only as John Goffey.’

The prosecutor added: ‘A request was made by police to the website to ascertain the subscriber details and further identifiers attached to the account usernames.
‘Both accounts were found to have been accessed by the same IP address attached to the home of the accused.
‘Police attended his home and examined an HP laptop and also recovered was a CV and an academic honours transcript from Glasgow Caledonian University.
‘Multiple images relating to the first witness were recovered as well as various files relating to the second.’
Sheriff Ray Small deferred sentence until next month for reports and Devenport had his bail continued.
He said: ‘You have pled guilty to two totally unsatisfactory and despicable crimes and they will need to be dealt with in due course.
‘These are serious matters and I would be perfectly entitled to send you to custody but will keep an open mind until I read the reports.’
Devenport was placed on the sex offenders’ register.
