Replacing Your Spare Tire On A Budget

Do you need one with a long handle? Or perhaps one in a spoon style? If you’re unsure what kind of tools you need be sure to consult someone working at an auto parts store and have them explain to you what would be the most suitable tool set for your vehicle.

We made it into Morarity, NM. The stations were all closed and it was hard to find any one that had a tire for sale. We stayed again in a truck stop parking lot, and I cooked supper in the camper. The next morning Bruce went out hunting for a spare tire. He found a tire shop that had two of them and we bought them. The spare we had put on was chipping off tread and so he changed that one again and put another tire on the spare rim. So, we are off again.

Speed rating is an often underestimated factor in choosing the right set of discount tires. In the USA the speed limit hardly ever climbs over 75mph. In Europe the lovers of speedy rides can really get loose, but in North America you can hardly ever need a tire capable to ride over 100mph – even though you will not likely need to drive this fast. Speed ratings show the safe top speed of a tire and are marked with letters, with Q as lowest and V as highest. You can always go for the ultra-performing tire for speedy sports cars, but this quality is something that you will almost never use.

The first time this happened, I drove it into a Discount tire store. They checked the tire and found nothing wrong. The second time this happened, I did the same thing. The third time this happened, I check the pressures in each tire, reset the warning light and went about my business!

Set your prices. The greater the tread, the bigger the price of the tire. If half of its tread is left, you can sell the tire for half of its original value. Use this as a basis for pricing.

There are two types of how far is oceanside from me. Literally those that are used that someone no longer wanted because they bought new ones. These are usually the worst option and should only be considered as a means to an end until your next payday. (Of course, if they are in really good shape because someone just changed the wheel size on their vehicle during a customization, then you might use them for many miles without trouble). Retreaded ones are a better option than just simply used ones. A retread shop retreads and sells some that are almost as good as new ones for a fraction of the price.

Not every tire takes the same amount of pressure. It often depends on the tire size and how heavy the vehicle is. You can find requirements on a sticker that is usually yellow in color and placed in the door jam of the car door on the side of the driver. Sometimes pressure requirements are printed right on the tire on the side wall. Other places manufacturers hide the sticker is under the door for the fueling area and in the glove compartment. PSI is the increment in which air pressure is measured. It means pounds per square inch. Most car tires take about 30 to 40 pounds each tire.
