Brynne Edelsten's co-accused jailed for five months

The man accused of dealing the deadly drug ice with reality TV star Brynne Edelsten has been jailed after admitting to his role in the . 

As Edelsten prepares to appear in the upcoming series of , Leigh Ellis, 39, on Wednesday pleaded guilty to drug charges. 

Ellis appeared via videolink in the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday from behind bars where he has remained since he and Edelsten were arrested in May.  

Ellis, who was living at home with his mum when nabbed by police, was sentenced to five months in jail, which with time served will see him walk free in just two months. 

The court heard he was lucky not to have been jailed for up to a year, with Magistrate Michael Wighton taking mercy on the rampant drug dealer due to his guilty plea. 

Ellis scored an added bonus with Mr Wighton choosing to vary an 18-month community corrections order he had been on at the time of his alleged dope dealing with Edelsten. 

In a sweatheart sentence, Ellis will be made to start the order again upon his release, only this time without any of the 100 hours of community work he had previously been ordered to perform for previous drug dealing. 

Mystery remains about how police allege Edelsten became mixed-up with Ellis. 

The reality star, who remains free in the community on bail, has declared she is innocent after she was charged with trafficking ice alongside the drug-pushing mummy’s boy.

Just days ago she took to social media in an emotional plea for ‘kindness’ during ‘s sixth hard lockdown. 

‘This pandemic is hard enough in lockdown without outside factors trying to crush each other..Be kind, it’s not hard,’ she wrote. 

Police described Ellis as a shocking drug addict and dealer who was ‘driven by greed and the need to generate an income above his usual occupation’. 

Police intelligence indicated Ellis had been dealing drugs almost daily to a variety of vulnerable drug users. 

Court documents revealed police held grave concerns about Ellis’ drug dealing. 

Detectives were scathing of his disregard for court orders, which saw him continue to deal drugs while serving his community order. 

He had been uncooperative when picked up by police in May, providing a ‘no comment’ interview. 

The court heard police executed a search warrant on Ellis’ Boronia property – east of Melbourne – where they confiscated a quantity of ice, an electric bike and 핑카지노추천 other pharmaceutical drugs. 

Detectives also seized two mobile phones and an Ipad belonging to Ellis, which revealed extensive trafficking of methamphetamine, cannabis and Xanax to at least 10 individuals.

Ellis’ lawyer Tony Danos claimed Ellis had been a ‘functioning addict’ for years before his addiction took over in 2016, when he lost his job as a pokie manager at Zagame’s in Caulfield. 

Since then, Ellis has been picked up at least seven times for drug dealing, which saw him jailed for most of last year.     

Edelsten was arrested and charged with four offences, including trafficking methylamphetamine, possessing methylamphetamine, using methylamphetamine and dealing in property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

In July, Edelsten gave followers on social media some insight into her frame of mind. 

‘Anyone else guilty of going back to an ex that made their life hell?? I need to learn to follow my head again & not my heart. Some things never change & some people don’t either. Time to focus on self-preservation again!!’ she wrote.  

The 38-year old had become a public figure on the coat tails of her marriage to the now dead disgraced millionaire Geoffrey Edelsten in 2009. 

She made headlines after publicly announcing her engagement to Edelsten at Melbourne’s Crown Casino on New Year’s Eve a year earlier.

The unpaid legal fees from her messy divorce led Edelsten to bankruptcy in 2016.
